Much effort has gone into the design of the demonstration version of this software, which is intended to showcase product features, and provide a realistic user experience.
Several avenues were considered in the design of the demonstration version:
• Recorded, multimedia “demos” don’t provide the opportunity for hands-on operation of the software.
• Feature-limited versions or disabled “saves” don’t make sense with certain kinds of software.
• Some demonstration versions permit usage for limited periods of time after installation:
To enforce the limit, invisible or otherwise undetectable files may be created. However, these files may remain on your hard disk indefinitely, in an effort to prevent reinstallation. This seems an inconsiderate practice.
This demo of Mac the Scope has all features enabled (except for part of the Waavebox module, which in the demo disables the SAVE feature for AIFF waveform files and setups). A variable period of runtime is provided after each launch. The time should be enough for feature evaluation, while discouraging continued use of the demo.

A comprehensive reference manual describing all features is provided with the “boxed” version.
